On Friday I finally completed my hyperbaric oxygen treatment! 60 sessions done ✔️
I’ve been doing the hyperbaric oxygen chamber for two hours a day, everyday (or as often as possible), since January. It was a commitment and a chore, but anything to help heal this mf wound. No phones or electronics were allowed in the chamber so you’re forced to get reallll comfortable with your thoughts.
I was doing the hyperbaric chamber bc it is supposed to help with healing wounds. I’ve had an open wound since October - a result from my tumors + lymph nodes removal and reconstructive surgery. SEVEN months of an open wound. 🙃🫠 🥲
My treatment plan was always chemo>surgery>radiation. But due to the wound and the lengthy healing process, we were unsure if radiation would happen. I got confirmation on Friday they still want to do radiation, even though it’s many months out from my completion of chemo and surgery. I have a lot of mixed feelings on this. On one hand, studies show that the series of treatment of chemo>surgery>radiation gives the best results in limiting reoccurrence, which clearly I want!! On the other hand, that side frankly just feels traumatized and the thought of having more treatment to the area makes me cringe. There is no timeline on when we can start radiation since my wound needs to first heal, but keeping my fingers crossed that it happens soon so we continue moving forward!
Thanks for reading, for the love, and the support🩷
Keeping the post on the shorter end, some highlights + recent milestones Alexa has hit for 2025, let’s jump in!
#1 | Birthday Celebration:
On 3/25 we celebrated Alexa’s 36th birthday!! + 3/29 marks one year since her diagnosis. What a year it has been, and what a powerful birthday/celebration to share after the year in review. Very grateful of all the support + love from family + friends + the “A Team”.
#1 | Immunotherapy (DONE):
Dr. Peddi ended the immunotherapy sessions early, so instead of doing 9 total Alexa just completed 7 sessions. Alexa had been experiencing brain fog issues that could be linked to treatment so it was decided to stop sooner rather than later. Lex went in for a Brain MRI, and the results came back negative for any concern, hopefully the brain fog will fade as we’re further out from the last immuno session.
For those wondering, yes she did get her “spa day” done at the last session, it was Evan’s birthday and he was able to get one too.

#2 | Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Sessions (DONE):
60x visits. 2x hour sessions, Mon - Fri. Lex is a trooper to not only finish the original 40x visits, but agree to continue going to Hyperbaric Therapy for an extra 20 sessions. All to further the care on her post-surgery wound.
#3 | Post-Surgery Wound Healing:
Alexa’s wound is still open + on the mend, it has been 7 months post-surgery and this thing is such a pain to deal with day-to-day. A little victory is that the pain level has gone down, and it is showing improvement on closing up, hopefully by the next entry it is fully closed.
#4 | Wedding in Arizona:
Lex + Ev went to Cave Creek, AZ to celebrate the wedding of ♥ Katelyn + David ♥. [Katelyn is the other half that makes up Two Muse Studios.] It was a delightful trip filled with dancing, eatin’ good, and exploring the little town of Cave Creek.

#5 | Moo + Aust Visit:
Moo did a watercolor workshop down in San Diego a few weeks ago. Lex, Ev, + Hanz drove down to spend the week with her, and Austen flew in for the week as well to hang out. It was a fun visit and as always flew by way to fast. I’ll post photos below of some highlights:

That is it for now, again, thank you all for the support, love, letters, calls, and everything. We’ll take the week as it comes and fingers crossed will have some updates around a radiation schedule as this wound heads into it’s final weeks of pestering.
